My crafty place

Category Archives: Easel Card

Morning Everyone.

Well life has taken over in the last couple of weeks, my mum had to spend a few days in hospital, for some tests, after a routine check up. So I’ve been back and forward, visiting and so forth. So sorry for the lack of blogging.

Here’s a few cards, the first was for my Great Nephew Dylan. He’s a fan of Cbeebies, this is Mike the Knight.

It’s an easel card. I’ve folded a piece of A4 card for the base and used some dies for the background and the grass. I’ve cut the number 3 and his name with my new silhouette portrait machine. I love this machine and I’m sure you’ll be seeing more projects using this in the future.

Secondly here’s another card made for Dylan from his Nanny.

The card base is by creative crafting world. The images are cbeebies characters Abney & Teal.

Thirdly, it was my nephew’s 20th birthday too…

I bought the Crafter’s Companion, Camden Town kit from Create & Craft and thought this would make a great teenage boys birthday card. I’ve made this card into a pop up card, here’s the inside…

……the pop up element is the Happy Birthday in the middle.

I’m off to play with my new silhouette portrait, have a great day whatever you may be doing :D

Hugs for now.

Hi Everyone.

I’ve got a card I made for a friend’s grandson’s 1st birthday to show you today. It’s an easel card.

The train, carriages, animals and  track are die cut pieces that I bought a long time ago from Harrogate show. The grass is cut with a sizzix die and the number 1 was cut with a quikcutz alphabet and numbers die set called Abigail, which has been mounted onto some nestie ovals. The sentiment has been computer generated.

Short and sweet today, have a great bonfire night whatever you might be doing.

Hi Everyone !!!

I have a QUADRUPLE SQUARE EASEL CARD to show you today, this is the view from the top.

I found one similar to this whilst blog hopping and thought I’d give it a go and it was a lot easier than I initially thought.

This measures 8×8 when flat.

The images on this card are toppers from Lili of the Valley and the butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The flower stoppers where punched with an EK Success punch and a candi dot has been added to the middle.

I’m doing a workshop on this card.

Dates available

Tuesday 17th July   10.30 – 12.30

Wednesday 18th July  7pm – 9pm

£10 including refreshments

Hi today is my Great Nephew Dylan’s 2nd birthday. Here’s the card I’ve made him, it’s another easel card…

The card base was made from a piece of A3 card. I cheated a bit with the images as they are toppers from Lili of the Valley which are already coloured.

The number 2 was made using a Wendy Stenton number template, which I’ve drawn round onto green card and cut out and then I’ve layered this onto black card and cut it out again with a border ( not very straight LOL but I’m sure he won’t mind. Maybe I should have got my cricut out). I’ve also added some peel offs around the edges. This is held up with two button stoppers.

Dylan’s name has been cut with a sissix alphabet and again layered on to black and cut round. Maybe I should have cut out the center of the d but I would probably made a mess of it so decided to leave it ( Chicken). The D & N also hold up the square sections.

Well going to enjoy this glorious weather we’re at the moment, lets hope it lasts the rest of the week and through the weekend.

Hi I’ve got an easel card to show you today.

I used my octagonal nesties  to create this card, laying it on the fold of the card and drawing round the shape, then moving the die along I repeated this step again and then again to get three panels ( hope this makes sense). Then I cut round all the pencil lines to create the shaped base card. Then I die cut three octagons using the same die, as the dies cut out slightly smaller they nested quite nicely onto the front. The scalloped patterned octagons were also cut with nesties.

The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set of stamps, which I stamped and cut out with a smaller die and then I inked it whilst it was still in the die.

The flower was cut out of patterned paper with the blossom 3 spellbinders die and I’ve added a few punched leaves. It’s finished off with three bows which holds the card up.

Challenges Entered

Creative Card Crew – Dimension

Allsorts – Buttons & Bows

Polka Doodles – 3 of something, I’ve used 3 panels & 3 bows

Hope you’re enjoying the lovely weather we’re having :D

Hi Everyone.

Been busy, busy, busy today !!!!!! Packed our youngest off to France on a school trip yesterday, missing him loads !!!!! So been crafting to fill the time, made two birthday cards, which I’ll show you later when the birthday’s are here and this Easter card. It’s a triple easel card and  I found the inspiration for this card while blog hopping see here.

I’ve used XXL flower dies by Go Create to create the base and mats for my card. The spotty papers are stampin up and the floral glitter paper is first editions by trimcraft. The butterflies and daisies have been punched using Martha Stewart and woodware punches.

The image and circular sentiment are from  Lili of the Valley, coloured with promarkers, then die cut and inked whilst still in the die.

Here’s a side view, maybe you can see how this works from this angle…….

……and it does lie flat for posting.

The train  and sentiment has been stamped using flitter glu and then had mega flakes added to the surface, which is then rubbed on and then buffed using a scoochy sponge.

Here’s acloser look, but the piccie dosn’t really do it justice.

These were then cut out using my go create dies and layered

The border along the bottom was cut using some spellbinders edging dies.
