My crafty place

Monthly Archives: March 2012

Hi Everyone.

Been busy, busy, busy today !!!!!! Packed our youngest off to France on a school trip yesterday, missing him loads !!!!! So been crafting to fill the time, made two birthday cards, which I’ll show you later when the birthday’s are here and this Easter card. It’s a triple easel card and  I found the inspiration for this card while blog hopping see here.

I’ve used XXL flower dies by Go Create to create the base and mats for my card. The spotty papers are stampin up and the floral glitter paper is first editions by trimcraft. The butterflies and daisies have been punched using Martha Stewart and woodware punches.

The image and circular sentiment are from  Lili of the Valley, coloured with promarkers, then die cut and inked whilst still in the die.

Here’s a side view, maybe you can see how this works from this angle…….

……and it does lie flat for posting.

Hi Everyone !!!!!!!

I’m on the countdown to the Easter break, after a busy couple of weeks. Last week I visited the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC on Thursday & Friday and brought some wonderful goodies, Spellbinder dies, including the new lattice sets by Sue Wilson, lili of the Valley stamps, PATP punches by Martha Stewart, a flitter glu starter set, some masks and sparkle medium by Imagination crafts and much more.

Today I’ve got a card that I made for a teacher that is retiring from our youngest son’s primary school, she’s been there for 34 years and taught all 3 of our children Adam had her for 3 years running.

I cased this card from the lovely & inspiring  Sue Wilson . I’ve used a different embossability folder  in the background and changed the romantic rectangles and lace for a square scalloped die and the border from the persian set. The Roses was made from a punch and the leaves are Nellie Snellen punches.

The sentiment was computer generated, die cut and inked with distress ink while still in the die.

Well, I’m off to enjoy this gorgeous weather we’re having at the moment, don’t suppose it’s going to last through the Easter break LOL

Hi Everyone !!!

Today is my Step Dad’s Birthday, here’s the card I made him.

It’s an easel card…

The train  and sentiment has been stamped using flitter glu and then had mega flakes added to the surface, which is then rubbed on and then buffed using a scoochy sponge.

Here’s acloser look, but the piccie dosn’t really do it justice.

These were then cut out using my go create dies and layered

The border along the bottom was cut using some spellbinders edging dies.

Happy Saturday !!!!

A quick post and quick cards today.

Here’s a monochrome black and white card I made for a neighbours son’s 21st birthday, it’s a side step card but this is an A4 size card when folded. I made a similar one for my son from his brother and sister, but the step was in the middle.

I’ve used my XXL Go Create dies to matt and layer the sentiment and numbers. The footballer, boots and whistle are computer generated. The footballs were stamped and then punched out with a circle punch. Not sure where the backing paper came from (Sorry)

This is quite a quick card to make and it needed to be, I only had a days notice to make three cards.

Here’s the other two…..

…Firstly a brother card….

…apparently John likes Vans shoes.

And secondly a card from his grandad.

I also added his name and age to the back of the shirt.

Hi Everyone !!!!!

I’ve got some cards made with the Stampin Up set called Button Buddies, to share with you today. The challenge over at Cupcake craft is Going Dotty, all these cards have dotty paper on them, this is also from Stampin Up. Also the challenge at Crafting when we Can is Animals and at MAWTT it’s cute as a button.

This first card has the cute pig image on it, which has been stamped in pink ink onto white card and then die cut with my square nesties. There is also a dotty button added for his/ her nose. The border has been punched using the lace ribbon border punch by Stampin Up.The Sentiment is from another Stampin Up set called Happiest Birthday Wishes which is a hostess set, punched using the curly label punch. The Card base is A6 size folded landscape and then the front has been folded back on itself.

This second card has been made in the same way as the first. The papers are Stampin Up as are the button flowers.  I ‘ve used my Stampin Up markers to put colour onto the vase stamp and then stamped it onto white card. Added the same sentiment and punched it, as in the pig card, then added some dotty ribbon to finish it off.Over at Allsorts the challenge is Say it with Flowers, hope this fits in.

This third card was really easy to make. It’s just an A6 card, I’ve added some patterned paper, stamped the snail and sentiment onto white card, added a button and some ribbon and it’s finished.

Just waiting for the sun to come out, supposed to be a nice day today.

Happy Saturday Everyone !!!

I’ve got a card that I made sometime ago to share with you today, it’s a snooker card, made for my brother. I saw a similar card when I was blog hopping but can’t remember where , SORRY !!!

I’ve used a triangular card base, as I thought the shape complimented the theme. The snooker balls have been created using a small circle punch, shaped and stuck on with dimensionals. Then I’ve cut a strip of card and wrapped it around the balls to form the triangle.

The snooker cue is a kebab skewer that I’ve cut to size, coloured with my promarkers and added some peel off strips to, the tip is a tiny round sticky fixer that’s also been coloured.

My Brother loved it !!!!

Good Morning !!!!

I have a Diamond and Silver Wedding Anniversary card to show you today.

Firstly, the Diamond anniversary. I chose a white on white theme. The diamonds in the centre are cut with a spellbinders set from glitter card as are the corners. The sentiments are computer generated and then  matt and layered. The gems in the 60 have been individually placed and a few more added to finish off. Simple but effective !!!! and it looked much more sparkly in the flesh.

Secondly, the Silver anniversary. This is white & silver. The hearts have been cut with spellbinders nesties and the white one has been put through the big shot and embossed with an embossing folder.

The doves are from a Stampin up set, to get two so that they face each other I’ve stamped the first one directly on to card with a versamark pad and embossed it using silver powder, the second dove I’ve inked up with the versamark pad and then transferred the image onto my brayer by rolling it over the stamp and then rolled the brayer onto the card, this reverses the image, then I’ve embossed it in the same way as the first dove.

The names  and numbers have been die cut with sissix alphabets and the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley, stamped and embossed in silver. A few flowers, punched leaves and a ribbon were added to finish it off.
