My crafty place

Monthly Archives: November 2012

Hi Everyone.

My friend Rachel went into hospital for an operation on her shoulder last week, here’s the card I made her. Bear in mind that she loves pigs.

I found this picture on the internet and just had to make her a card with it. I bought these tent cards from my recent visit to the NEC , I love them, as they are all die cut, they don’t need much decoration, they also come in different shapes and sizes. These are available at Cupcake Crafting see HERE  and  I think I’ve also seen them on create and craft.

Here’s a closer look at that cute pig

Well here’s wishing Rachel a speedy recovery !!!

Hi Everyone

It was my Son’s girlfriend Chloe’s birthday yesterday. Here’s the card I made her.

I bought these horse iris folding patterns a while ago and as she owns her own horse thought they might be quite apt.

I haven’t done any iris folding for a while now, so it made a nice change to have a play. When I’d finished the iris folding part I die cut the horse  out using one of the grand decorative oval dies, which was then mounted onto the next size up oval. The corners are also die cut with a spellbinders D-lites die. I’ve also added some die cut banners to put my sentiments on and some bling, lace  and ribbon from the stash to finish it off.

Hi Everyone

Had a great time at the NEC. I spent 3 days there, Thursday I went with my friends Shirley & Wendy and bumped into lots of crafty friends, Friday I helped out Jill from the Hobby House, such a lovely lady and they’ve got some wonderful products. Then Saturday I spent shopping and meeting up with some blogging friends, Vicky, Jo and her daughter, Heather and Kim it was lovely to see you all. I also had time to visit the cake show too. I used to make cakes many years ago and it was eye-opening to see how techniques have moved on, with all the moulds that are available now.

Well I’ve got a canvas to show you today. I made this for my Son David and his partner Chloe for their new home.

I bought the canvas from Home Bargains and painted it with some shimmery blue paint. Then I tore some of their wallpaper, they had left after decorating and adhered it to the left hand side.

These flowers and swirls were cut from the wallpaper with sizzix dies and the central flower was punched with a stampin up punch. The diamante centers were from The Hobby House. The “HOME SWEET HOME” has been cut with a sizzix alphabet  and embossed with clear powder.

They loved it and it has pride of place on their living room wall.

Hi Everyone.

I’ve got a card I made for a friend’s grandson’s 1st birthday to show you today. It’s an easel card.

The train, carriages, animals and  track are die cut pieces that I bought a long time ago from Harrogate show. The grass is cut with a sizzix die and the number 1 was cut with a quikcutz alphabet and numbers die set called Abigail, which has been mounted onto some nestie ovals. The sentiment has been computer generated.

Short and sweet today, have a great bonfire night whatever you might be doing.
