My crafty place

U Passed

Morning everyone.

Just a quickie today. My brother’s girlfriend passed her driving test a couple of weeks ago, WELL DONE Hayley !!!

So here’s the card I made her….

DSC04040

The card base was from Creative Crafting World. I’ve cut the car with a sizzix die that I’ve had for years, then added some eyelashes using the bitty blossoms die by spellbinders and a number plate. The “congratulations” has been cut with a Britannia die and the flowers were from the stash. I’ve also added a paper bow I cut myself to finish it off.

Flying High

Hi Everyone

Another weekend over and a new week begins, but we’ve got a long weekend to look forward to. YAY !!

I’ve got a card I CASED from the creative expressions volume 2 book today. Some one at my Son’s works asked me to do a card for their  friend’s 7oth birthday and he’s into model aircraft, so I thought this would fit the bill perfectly. I’ve just changed it slightly by adding the age to the bottom right hand corner instead of a welcome home message.

DSC04013

I’ve followed what was said in the book, but I’ve used mostly products from Stampin Up. These are……. the cardstock, newsprint paper, stripy paper, the stamp on the crumb cake background and the stamp on the very vanilla background behind the plane. The Plane is a Justrite Stamp, which has been coloured with promarkers and die cut using the corresponding dies. The 70 has been layered on shapes punched with Stampin Up punches and the twine and button are also Stampin Up.

I love promarkers - square card with something round on it.

Stampin’ for the weekend – Die cuts & punches

Have a lovely day, whatever you’re doing.

I’m off to my local craft shop to pick up a stamp I ordered and then working on some workshop samples, so watch this space.

Silhouette Birds

Hi Everyone.

Well the weekend is nearly here, Whoo Whoo.

I’ve got a man’s birthday card today, for someone who loves birds, the feathered kind LOL.

DSC04015

This is an 8″x8″ card base. I’ve used one of Sue Wilson’s A4 embossing folders on the background and rubbed some guilding wax over the top.

DSC04016

I’ve stamped the birds in a tree stamp in black ink onto crumb cake coloured card and die cut with my circle nesties. This has then been matted onto another spellbinders die.The single bird on a branch has been punched with a Stampin Up punch.

I’ve added some ribbon, a twine Knot, the age and a sentiment to finish it off.

Have a lovely weekend !!

Daisy Duck

Hi everyone, what a lovely day it’s been today and Happy St George’s Day :D

I’ve got a book card today, the inspiration for this was the baby’s name, Daisy.

DSC04007

I’ve used the book a trix board by keepsake crafting to make the base of this card. The rest was computer generated and die cut with my oval nesties. I’ve added some peel offs and a ribbon and hey presto. I also made a box a lope for this card but unfortunately didn’t take a piccie.

DSC04008

Here’s the delightful Daisy Duck, I’ve also decoupaged her.

Well, short and sweet today. Be back soon.

Vintage Dress Form

Happy weekend everyone.

Were having some lovely weather here, been sitting in the garden this morning.

It was my friend Mandy’s birthday last week here’s the card I made her.

DSC04004

Firstly I drew myself a template, of a cotton reel, for the base card shape and covered it in newsprint paper. I stamped a measuring tape onto kraft cardstock, the stamp was from a retired Stampin’ Up set.

DSC04005

The dress form was cut with a sizzix die from kraft cardstock. I cut it again from some patterned paper for the bodice of the dress and added some pink polka dot organza ribbon for the skirt. I also added some organza roses to the waist and some pearls around the neck.

DSC04006

The roses have been made from the Tim Holtz tattered flower die from sizzix. I’ve added some feathers, lace and a sentiment to finish it off.

Challenges Entered

ABC – L for Lovely Lace

Allsorts – Passion for flowers

One Stop Craft Challenge – Not Square

Mandy loved her card, so did I. You know, sometimes you just make a card and you know you’re happy with it. Will certainly be making some more like this !!! :D

Well off to enjoy the sunshine whilst we have it.

Topsy Turvy

Hi Everyone.

A card I made for a friend’s birthday today.

DSC03983

I got this cottage cutz Topsy Turvy cake die from  the Harrogate show, it was a bargain, on sale at £5. It’s been pieced together and mounted onto a DL card ( love it). The words have been die cut with a Britannia die.

DSC03984

Short and sweet today, off to make some birthday cards :D
